Colorado Credit Unions Faring Better, National Report Shows    

The performance of credit unions in Colorado shows some improvement in the second quarter of 2012, according to a new analysis by the National Credit Union Administration.

The analysis shows Colorado ranked seventh in year-to-year asset growth at the credit unions (9.2%) and ninth in year-to-year deposit growth (8.8%), encouraging numbers as credit unions nationally press through the economic recovery.  Read More

Colorado Lawmakers Ask for More Drought Assistance                       

With the severe drought still gripping the region, two Colorado Republican lawmakers are asking the federal government to extend an emergency order that opened up more lands for livestock grazing and haying.

With no substantial moisture forecast in the coming weeks, Colorado Congressmen Cory Gardner and Scott Tipton want USDA to extend the lift on grazing and haying restrictions on lands previously off-limits under the Conservation Reserve Program through November 30th. Read More
