On Friday, Congressman Ron Barber (D-AZ) joined a growing list of 94 House members that have cosponsored H.R. 688, The Credit Union Small Business Jobs Creation Act. The bill would raise the credit union member business lending cap from 12.25% of assets to 27.5% of assets. This is the first time that Barber, who represents Arizonans 3rd congressional district, has signed onto our MBL legislation. Barber was first elected during a 2013 Special Election when he won the seat after it was vacated by former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. He won reelection only four months later in the November General Election. The Association endorsed him in both elections. Barber joins Congressmen Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) and Jared Polis (D-CO) as MBL cosponsors from the Associations tri-state region.
