Credit Union Charter Enhancement Bills Introduced; State of the Union Hones in on Jobs
There were two very positive developments on Capitol Hill this week concerning CUNA and the leagues’ priority of enhancing the credit union charter: We saw the introduction of capital reform legislation, and a bill to raise the cap on member business loans. Last year’s champions have stepped forward again. Reps. Peter King (R-NY) and Brad Sherman (D-CA) co-authored the supplemental capital bill, and Reps. Ed Royce (R-CA) and Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) reintroduced the MBL legislation. Read More
